Why pet odor is so hard to get rid of
Urine contains salts and other compounds that bond to carpet fibers and soak deep into the pad. When the area gets humid, or when the carpet gets wet during an ordinary cleaning, they re-activate and the smell comes back stronger. In South Florida's humidity, that can happen any day of the week.
Most odor problems aren't one big spot. They're many small ones, often in corners, along walls and near doors, and most of them are invisible to the eye. Treating only the spots you can see leaves the rest behind.
How we find the source
We use a UV light to reveal urine spots you can't see in normal light. That shows us exactly where the problem areas are and how far each one has spread, so we treat every source instead of guessing.

Levels of treatment
For light, recent odor in the carpet fibers. An odor treatment is applied and extracted.
For spots that reached the backing and pad. The treatment is applied in enough volume to reach the full depth.
If urine has soaked the pad or reached the slab, we'll tell you what treatment can and can't achieve before you spend money.
Our pet odor process
- Inspect with UV
We find every urine spot, mark the areas and explain what each one needs.
- Treat at the right depth
Each area gets the level of treatment it needs, from the fibers down to the pad.
- Clean and extract
Treated areas are rinsed and extracted. Pairing it with a full carpet cleaning gives the best overall result.
- Final check
We check the areas again and tell you how to keep them fresh.
Honest expectations
Most pet odor can be removed or greatly reduced. In the worst cases, where urine has soaked through the carpet and pad and into the slab for years, treatment may not fully solve it, and replacing that carpet and pad may be the better answer. We'll tell you before you spend money on treatments that won't work. Damaged carpet and pad are covered in pet-damaged carpet repair.
Signs the odor is in the pad or subfloor
- The smell gets stronger on humid days or after the carpet gets wet.
- A regular cleaning made the smell worse, not better.
- The carpet backing feels stiff or crunchy in an area.
- Your pet keeps going back to the same corner.
Any of these suggest the source is below the carpet fibers. That's exactly where our UV inspection and deep treatment help. If the pad is badly saturated, we'll tell you honestly what treatment can achieve.
How pet odor removal is priced
Cleaning is priced by the job, so we quote it at the same free visit after we've seen the rooms and pieces. You get the exact number before we start. If you're also having carpet repaired or re-stretched, both are quoted together, and a combined visit costs less than separate trips.
Preventing repeat accidents
- Clean accidents fast with cool water and blotting. See pet stain removal tips.
- Remove the scent completely. Pets return to spots that still smell like urine to them, even if you can't smell it.
- Avoid ammonia cleaners, which smell like urine to pets.
- Talk to your vet if accidents are new or frequent. It can be a sign of a health issue.
