Plantation has tree-lined neighborhoods of ranch homes, plus townhomes and condos along Broward Boulevard and University Drive. Remodels are common here, and when hardwood or tile goes into the main rooms, the bedroom carpet that stays often needs re-stretching and a new edge.
After a remodel
Flooring installers often pull carpet back at the edges. If it's not re-stretched, ripples follow. We stretch it and finish the transitions cleanly.
Signs it's time
- Waves or ripples you can see or feel
- Carpet that bunches when furniture moves
- Edges pulling off the wall
- Ripples that come back after being kicked flat
How we do it
- Furniture moved in sections
- Carpet released from the tack strip
- Power-stretched and re-hooked
- Excess trimmed and tucked at the wall
Older ranch homes
Older carpet relaxes over time. A power stretch and fresh tack strip where needed make it lie flat again.
Jacaranda, Plantation Acres and the east side
Plantation's neighborhoods differ a lot. Older ranch homes on the east side often have carpet only in the bedrooms, now next to tile or wood. Townhomes around Jacaranda usually have stairs and an upstairs hall that loosen first. Out in Plantation Acres, larger homes have big rooms that need a power stretcher to tension properly. We plan the visit around the kind of home you have.
