Steps to expertly cleaned Oriental and area
rugs:
*Pre-Inspect
The condition of each rug ? look for fading, discoloration, stains, wear,
pre-existing damage, color instability and odors. We determine the clean ability
of each rug and the appropriate cleaning procedure to be used.
Dusting
Dust and particulate matter lying deep within the rug are removed using
compressed air and specially designed tools. There's no time limit to this
process - we'll keep at it until the dirt stops coming out. This process is the
key to your rug lasting a long time because dirt acts like a razor blade to the
wool and the knots deep in your rug. If it's not periodically removed, it will
gradually destroy what holds your rug together. This step is often referred to as "air washing"
or "dusting" of the rug.
Vacuuming, shaking, or beating are not nearly as effective.
Cold Water Pit
We then fill a special tub with cold water. A mild soap is used to wash
the rug, which is scrubbed with brushes and hand-held orbital washers for about
15 minutes. Dissolve, Suspend and Extract the ground in soils. Spots, spills and stains using the most advanced spotting techniques.
Pre-Clean. Traffic and heavily soiled areas. Agitate,
Rinse
The tub is then drained and rug is rinsed with clean cold water. To
further remove soil and cleaning residue (to restore the natural feel). Restore.
The nap with special grooming tools, and the fringes are hand-washed with soft
brushes and rinsed thoroughly.
Dry
The rugs are then moved to our climate controlled drying room. We use
industrial fans and Dehumidifiers to speed the drying process. Drying time is less
then 24 hours. Final Inspection. We maintain the highest standards, so our
inspection process is thorough. We don?t hesitate to repeat any steps that
might be necessary to provide you with the cleanest rug possible. It's that
final touch that means so much.
*NOTE: During step #1, pre-inspection - we
may determine that additional steps beyond standard cleaning are necessary to
restore your rug to its best possible appearance. Standard cleaning is done at
our normal or quoted price. Unusually heavily soiled rugs, excessive spotting,
by-hand cleaning, deodorization, and situations that require extra labor or
materials may require an additional charge.
